Meet Councilwoman Mary Estimé-Irvin

Biography

Mary Estimé-Irvin is the Managing Partner of Estimé & Irvin Consulting, LLC, a firm that advises organizations on strategy, operations, and community engagement. She previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of E&I Associates, where she built a practice around helping institutions work more effectively with the neighborhoods they serve.

Long before she held elected office, her work was rooted in nonprofit leadership. She managed programs and teams focused on youth development, workforce readiness, and services for families — the kind of work that makes the gaps in public systems impossible to ignore. That experience remains the backbone of how her council office handles constituent cases today: document the problem, find the right department, and follow up until it is resolved.

She also spent years in political campaign management, organizing volunteers, building coalitions, and helping first-time candidates earn the trust of their communities. Those years taught her the value of showing up consistently — at clergy breakfasts, business corridors, clean-ups, and kitchen tables — rather than only during election season.

Sworn in as District 3 Councilwoman in 2019, she has focused her tenure on youth and women's empowerment, support for minority-owned businesses, and the unglamorous but essential work of transportation and infrastructure. She has helped secure millions in funding for local small businesses, and she represents North Miami in regional and statewide municipal organizations, carrying the district's priorities to county and state decision-makers.
